A True Story of Triumph Over Tragedy

A Brave Hope is the inspirational story about an ordinary person overcoming extraordinary circumstances, and she did so by relying on faith, hope, and love.  Rebekah Hughes learned to find joy and purpose despite the pain caused by the family turmoil of divorce, domestic violence, mental illness, addiction, abandonment, and death.

Coming Soon in 2020

At 23, Rebekah was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer.  After a yearlong battle, she had defeated the cancer.  At 27, she got married, and eight months into her new marriage, her dreams were crushed when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and given just months to live.  She wouldn’t accept that prognosis, though. She chose to fight; she chose to live.  This is the remarkable story of a couple whose choice of life and love, faith and hope, helped them conquer the seemingly impossible.

Raw and real, heartbreaking and humorous, this documentary will inspire you to believe that no matter what you’re facing, there is always hope.  Rebekah’s hope is not mere wishful thinking, a positive attitude, or naive optimism. Her hope is real and absolute hope that cannot be shattered or stolen.  That kind of hope can be yours too.

Directed by Benjamin Ironside Koppin (Ironside Films)

Benjamin Ironside Koppin loves to push the envelope of traditional filmmaking, pulling from multiple mediums and styles to create a unique piece of art with every project - why shoot on one type of camera when you can shoot on seven? He has a passion for finding honesty and truth within the medium of film. He loves collaborating with actors, pushing each other to find what is authentic within each moment. Ben likes to dive deep into the darkness of characters and have his films visually express the torment they are going through, pulling the audience into that world from start to finish.

Q&A with Director, Benjamin Koppin at the FirstGlance Film Festival, LA 2020

Ben shares the stage with filmmaker, Scott Michael Klumb who filmed a documentary about his life and getting diagnosed with Autism at the age of 23 (Autism: One Man's Journey).

Ben takes questions about where the movie's vision came from, planning it, and how to make quality faith based films that don't come off as cheesy or hokey.

Independent Review by Film Carnage - 8/10!

The key question of the film is asked: is it worth watching? When it comes down to it, good or bad, amazing or awful, that’s what really matters, was it worth a watch.
